Setting your intention for a yoga practice is simple bringing your attention to a quality that you would like to emulate for your time on – and off – the mat. That quality could be gratitude, strength, awareness of breath – whatever you want to cultivate. Not to be confused with affirmations, intention is a mental state that represents a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in the future. Intention involves mental activities such as planning and forethought.

I feel deeply rooted.
I am connected to my body.
I feel safe and secure.
I am grounded, stable and standing on my own two feet.
I feel the earth supporting me and breathing energy into me.
With warmth and love,
Kara
